Combustible Gas Detector - Model MTG-3000HR (relay)
The MTG-3000HR detector is designed to monitor rooms for the presence of natural gas (LNG), methane, propane, butane or propane-butane (LPG) in living areas.

As one of the few flammable and explosive gas detectors in its category, it has certificates confirming compliance with the requirements of both Czech and European technical standards ČSN EN50194-1: 2009 and ČSN EN50194-2: 2006 issued by the independent accredited laboratory TÜV SUD Product Service GmbH in Germany.
Thanks to this certificate of conformity, the detector can be installed not only in residential buildings, but also in caravans, motor homes, caravans, boats and yachts.

The MTG-3000HR detector is designed to continuously detect the presence of flammable gases in the monitored area. Detection is provided by a catalytic combustion sensor, with high sensitivity, which does not require further calibration.

In the event that a gas leak is detected, an optical and acoustic warning signal is activated and the output relay closes, which implements the next step in connection with the connected peripheral. The alarm will end when the gas concentration falls below the alarm triggering threshold. The device has an automatic diagnostics system that monitors the sensor and internal circuits. If the detector diagnostics detects any discrepancies, a buzzer will sound and the yellow ERROR LED will flash.

The detector is powered by a safe voltage of 12V DC via a 230V / 50Hz power supply, which is included in the package.

Areas of application: Living quarters with kitchens equipped with gas stoves, domestic boiler rooms with appliances burning natural gas, propane-butane or rooms in which gas appliances are located, such as: gas cylinders, tanks, gas pipes, garages for gas-powered cars , school chemical and physical workshops and laboratories.

Where to install the detector?

We install flammable and explosive gas detectors in rooms with a potential gas leak (gas boiler rooms, kitchens, rooms with wavkami, karma, direct heaters, thermometers, etc.). The basic criterion for the correct placement of the detector is the identification of the gas, ie whether we will detect light gas (rising up to the ceiling) or heavy gas (falling to the floor). We will choose the installation location according to this criterion. We always install the gas detector on the wall, depending on the type of gas detected, either under the ceiling (approx. 15-30 cm) or above the floor (approx. 15-30 cm), at a distance of at least 1.2 m from the fuel-burning device to minimize false alarms, which can occur during a short gas leak, for example when igniting a gas boiler or stove and at a distance of about 60 cm from the corners, ie the place where the two walls converge.

Properties of gases and their weight in relation to air

Propane butane (LPG): Heavier than air, sinks to the floor.
Natural gas (LNG, CNG): Lighter than air, it rises up to the ceiling.
Petroleum substances: Heavier than air, falling to the floor.
Ethylene: Lighter than air, it rises up to the ceiling.

What is natural gas?

Natural gas is supplied to your house by pipeline. If you do not live in the countryside, you are probably using natural gas. It is the predominant energy for heating homes. Natural gas is a fossil fuel containing almost exclusively methane. Methane is much lighter than air and rises upwards when escaping.

If you are a natural gas user, we recommend installing this detection device about 30 cm from the ceiling to ensure that a gas leak is detected as quickly as possible.

What is propane?

Propane is most often supplied to the household in liquid form and is stored near the house in propane tanks. Propane is used in houses in the countryside where natural gas is not introduced. As propane is the most commonly used LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), propane and LPG are often used with the same meaning. Unlike natural gas, propane is much heavier than air and stays low to the ground. We therefore recommend that you install this detection device low to the floor to ensure that a gas leak is detected as quickly as possible.

It is therefore important to protect your family and home with flammable gas detectors.
