MPPT regulator 10A for lead-acid batteries with a system voltage of 12V and for PV panels with a max. output of 130W with a max. input voltage of 45V and a min. input voltage of 15.8V. It is primarily intended for panels with a system voltage of 12V, which generate 16-18V at maximum load.
Brief description of MPPT controllers:
MPPT controllers use an internal V-A converter to adjust the characteristics of the current source-solar panel so that it is optimal for charging the battery. They can therefore use the energy from the solar panels better than PWM controllers, which regulate charging only by pulse limiting the direct connection of the solar panel and the battery, when the pulse width is proportional to the state of the battery being charged. In other words, the MPPT controller can generate the ideal voltage and current for charging the battery from the higher voltage and lower current of the source. For example, it converts 18V/5A to 14.5V/6.2A. The conversion efficiency of the V-A characteristic is usually over 95%, so the losses are minimal and the regulators can usually be adapted to different types of batteries so that the charging is as optimal as possible.
Technical parameters:
- system voltage 12 V
- max. output of PV panels: 130 W for maximum use of the controller. When using a more powerful panel, the full power will not be used, but the function of the regulator will be preserved without damage.
- max. PV panel output voltage: 45 V
- minimum PV panel output voltage: 15.8 V – verified by own measurement
- max. charging current: 10 A
- own consumption: 7 mA
- 4-stage battery charging (CC, CV – boost, CV – float, CV-equalize)
- CC = charging with the full power of the PV panels up to the set value of the end of charging (CV-boost)
- CV-boost = charging for 1-2 hours after reaching a terminal voltage of 14-15 V (adjustable)
- CV-equalize = charging with increased voltage to mix the liquid electrolyte - optional only for batteries with liquid electrolyte
- CV-float = charging with a maintenance voltage of 13.5-13.8 V (adjustable)
- choice of Pb battery type: With liquid dielectric, AGM, AGM GEL
- not suitable for Li-Ion, LiFePO4 or Li-Pol batteries
- load disconnection at battery voltage 10.8–11.8V – adjustable
- LCD display for setting and monitoring operating parameters
- 2x USB interface
- temperature compensation: –4.17mV/K per cell when charging boost+equal - 3.33mV/K per cell when charging float (maintenance)
- Modbus protocol based on RS-485 interface maximizing communication possibilities.
- protection IP32
- operating temperature: –25°C~55°C
- dimensions: 189 x 96 x 53 mm
- weight: 0.42 kg
