Robust and fast MPPT controller for demanding conditions with panel voltage up to 150V, maximum charging current 45 A. Battery 12/24/48V, PV max 650/1300/2600Wp. Full warranty of 5 years. Integrated bluetooth.
Victron Energy's MPPT solar controllers are among the absolute world leaders in this field. It offers ultra-fast MPPT tracking to ensure the maximum possible solar gains. Especially in cloudy skies with frequent changes in light intensity, solar gains are 30% higher compared to classic PWM controllers or 10% higher compared to slower MPPT controllers.
The maximum power of the solar panels is 650 Wp for 12 V systems, 1300 Wp for 24 V systems and 2600 Wp for 48 V systems. If these values are exceeded, the controller will not be damaged, but will only automatically reduce the incoming power from the panels to acceptable values. The solar regulator is factory preset for eight types of batteries - the choice of the appropriate type is made using a rotary switch located on the body of the regulator.
The maximum no-load voltage (referred to as Voc) of the connected solar panels must not exceed 150V (note: the voltage of the solar panels increases as the outside temperature drops). The maximum input short-circuit current of the PV panels must not exceed 50A, otherwise permanent damage may occur.
The new range of SmartSolar MPPT controllers offers built-in Bluetooth
This new function brings the possibility of connecting your "smart" phone/tablet with your "smart" solar controller.
You can monitor many system parameters and historical statistics for the last 30 days. You also have the option to set operating parameters.
You can also download the VictronConnect application for free from Google Play or the App Store.
If you want to do the above using a PC, then you can use the VE.direct to USB cable to connect the controller and PC. You just install the Victron Connect program on your computer.
The internal electronic components are protected by a resin coating against adverse effects and for a long life. It thus offers increased protection resistance IP43 for electronic components and IP22 for connection connectors. Designed for a vertical position on a non-flammable base, with wiring from below.
The regulator contains an internal temperature sensor for corresponding adjustment of the charging voltage. Automatic detection of system voltage 12/24/48 V.
Adaptive three-stage charging:
1. fast charging (Bulk), 2. absorption (Absorption) and 3. maintenance (Float). Initially, in fast charging, a high current and lower voltage is generated to quickly recharge a discharged battery. This phase is followed by a constant voltage with decreasing current to fully charge the battery without dangerous overcharging that reduces battery life. A charged battery is kept charged by very low current and low voltage. If the battery voltage drops below 13.2 V, for example due to load, a new charging cycle is started.
The voltage from the panels must exceed the battery voltage by 5V for the regulator to start working and charging the battery. The regulator charges until the voltage from the panels is 1 V higher than the battery voltage. For a 12 V battery, we recommend panels with a minimum number of 32 cells and a maximum number of 108 cells (panels in series). It is therefore possible to charge a 12 V battery as well as panels with a working voltage of 24 V. For 24 V systems, we recommend panels with a minimum number of 72 cells and a maximum number of 108 cells. The purpose is to achieve sufficient voltage to effectively and fully charge the battery.
This more powerful series of solar controllers is not equipped with a DC output. To connect a DC load to the battery, we recommend using "BP Battery Protection" with a maximum load current of up to 220A.
