Battery protection Smart BP-65 12 / 24V
Battery protection Smart BatteryProtect protects the battery from excessive discharge (which could damage the battery) and can be used as an on / off system switch.
Automatic setting 12 / 24V
BatteryProtect battery protection automatically detects system voltage.
Integrated Bluetooth = very easy programming
Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth function for Smart BatteryProtect programming, the required voltage levels for connecting / disconnecting the load can be easily set. You can make settings via smartphone, tablet or PC using the VictronConnect app.
Alternatively, one of the nine preset connection / disconnection levels can be set using the programming pin (see manual).
If necessary, Bluetooth can be turned off.
VictronConnect application
Download the application for free under the name VictronConnect app in the App Store or Google Play.
The application can be downloaded from this software page of the manufacturer Victron Energy:

Special settings for Li-ion batteries
In this mode, Smart BatteryProtect protection can be controlled via the VE.Bus BMS bus.
Note: Smart BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge disconnector between a battery charger and a Li-ion battery. See the wiring diagram in the manual.
Very low energy consumption
Low power consumption is very important for Li-ion batteries, especially after switching off at low voltage.
For more information, please see the Li-ion battery datasheet and VE.Bus BMS manual.
Overvoltage protection
In the event of an overvoltage resulting in possible damage to sensitive devices, the devices are disconnected if the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V.
Resistant to sparks
It does not work with relay elements but with MOSFET transistor switches, no sparking occurs.
Delayed alarm output
The alarm output is activated if the voltage on the battery drops below the set value for more than 12
seconds. Starting the engine, therefore, does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is an open collector output to the negative
bus, max. current 500 mA. The alarm output is typically connected to a buzzer or traffic light.
Delayed load disconnection
The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been triggered. If the battery voltage rises to this level during this time
"Connection thresholds" (eg during engine start), the load will not be disconnected.
The load is reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage is increased to more than the preset reconnection voltage.
BatteryProtect battery protection is one-way, ie. current can only flow from the "in" input to the "out" output. Reverse current flowing from the "out" output to the "in" input is not permitted and will damage the device.
